Private Jet to
Marbella & Malaga

There is no airport at Marbella. Private jets for Marbella, Puerto Banús, Benahavís and most of the Costa del Sol land at Malaga, which handles business aviation year-round and is rarely as constrained as the islands.

Private jet charter to Marbella means Malaga (AGP / LEMG), about three-quarters of an hour away along the coast. Malaga is a year-round airport serving a year-round coast: golf in spring and autumn, family trips in summer, and a steady flow of owners travelling to and from their homes in every month.

For Sotogrande and the western end of the coast, Gibraltar is sometimes the closer arrival point. It has its own entry formalities and aircraft considerations, so it is worth comparing with Malaga for each trip rather than assuming.

Arrival airports

Malaga (AGP / LEMG) — The main airport for the Costa del Sol. Malaga city, Marbella, Puerto Banús, Benahavís and Estepona; Nerja and the eastern coast too.

Gibraltar (GIB / LXGB) — For Sotogrande and the western coast. Checked case by case for aircraft and entry arrangements.

Areas served

  • Marbella and the Golden Mile

Transfers

When to go

The Costa del Sol is one of the few southern European coasts with real year-round demand. Summer is the peak; spring and autumn are busy with golf; winter is quieter but far from empty, which makes Malaga easier to schedule than the Balearics for most of the year.

Positioning and empty legs

Malaga's size means parking for a stay of several nights is usually easier than in Ibiza or Mykonos, so the aircraft repositioning while you are away is less often a factor. Year-round traffic also means positioned aircraft and verified empty legs turn up; save your route to hear about them.

Common questions

Marbella & Malaga
private jet FAQ

How much is a private jet from London to Malaga?

The indicative flying charge is £14,000, for about 2 hr 10 min estimated airborne time in a Citation X or similar super-midsize jet at £6,500 per flying hour. Where a light jet suits the passengers and baggage, the equivalent figure is about £8,500. Positioning, airport and handling charges, catering and other costs are added in the quotation.

Which airport do private jets use for Marbella?

Malaga, about 45 minutes away by road. Marbella has no airport. For Sotogrande, Gibraltar is sometimes closer and worth comparing.

Is Malaga busy for private jets in summer?

Busy, but generally less constrained than the Balearic islands. The difference in parking and slots is one reason a Costa del Sol trip is often simpler to arrange.

Can I fly a private jet to Marbella for golf?

Yes, and golf bags are a common reason to step up an aircraft size. Tell us how many sets are travelling; baggage volume, not weight, usually decides the aircraft.

Is the price for the whole aircraft?

Yes. All figures on this page are for the whole aircraft, not per seat.
