London to Geneva
Geneva is the default Alpine arrival for the French and Swiss resorts, and the busiest business aviation airport in the Alps through winter. The flying is short — the constraint is slots and parking, not distance.

Super-midsize planning profile. Block time adds an indicative taxi allowance across both ends and is not a scheduled time. Indicative flying charge only, calculated from estimated airborne time and a representative rate for the aircraft category. Positioning, airport charges, handling, passenger taxes, catering, de-icing, crew expenses and minimum-sector charges are additional. Final pricing depends on aircraft availability and operator quotation.
Why this airport
Geneva serves Chamonix, Verbier, Megève, Courchevel and Val d'Isère by road, and it is the only Alpine airport in this list that handles large-cabin aircraft without restriction. That combination is why it fills first.
Slots, parking and operational restrictions
Geneva is slot coordinated year-round and demand at winter weekends far exceeds capacity. Parking is the binding constraint rather than runway or approach. If a parking slot cannot be secured the aircraft drops and repositions — often to Lyon, Basel or Zurich — and returns for the pickup. That repositioning is chargeable flying time.
Alternative airports
Chambéry and Sion sit closer to several French and Swiss resorts respectively and can be quicker overall despite the shorter runways. Annecy, Grenoble and Lyon are worth considering when Geneva weekend slots are gone. For the Tarentaise resorts specifically, Chambéry usually wins on total journey time.
Passengers and baggage
Ski and board bags are long rather than heavy, and hold shape decides what fits more than stated volume. Six passengers with six ski bags and boot bags will rule out a very light jet entirely and stretch a light jet. Declare the bag count before the aircraft is confirmed, not at check-in.
Onward transfer
Most resorts are between one and three hours by road from Geneva, and transfer times lengthen considerably on Saturday changeover days. Helicopter transfer from Geneva to the larger resorts is available through third parties and is worth pricing when the road time would exceed two hours.
Road journey times vary with traffic, weather and season. We do not publish transfer times as promises.

Indicative cruise altitude only — actual altitude depends on routing, weather, aircraft weight and air traffic control. Range is a planning figure, not a guarantee: payload, reserves, weather and airport restrictions all reduce usable range. Individual aircraft configurations vary and no particular airframe is guaranteed.
The pilot’s view
Geneva in January is not a difficult airport, it is a busy one. The flying is ninety minutes; the planning is everything else. Book the slot as seriously as the aircraft, and if your dates are movable, a Thursday or a Sunday morning will cost less and stress less than a Saturday. If the resort is in the Tarentaise, ask about Chambéry before you assume Geneva.
Common questions
How long is a private jet flight from London to Geneva?
About 1 hr 10 min estimated airborne time over a great-circle distance of 407 nm. Allowing for taxi at both ends, indicative block time is about 1 hr 30 min. Actual routing varies with airways, ATC, weather and operational requirements.
How much does a private jet from London to Geneva cost?
Indicatively £7,500 for a super-midsize aircraft, calculated from 1 hr 10 min estimated airborne time.
Who operates the flight?
Charter flights are operated by appropriately certificated third-party air carriers. The operating carrier is identified with the charter quotation.
Which airport is best for Courchevel and Val d'Isère?
Chambéry is usually closer by road for the Tarentaise resorts, and Geneva is the fallback when Chambéry weekend capacity is gone. The right answer depends on your dates and the aircraft, so it is worth asking rather than assuming.
Can I take skis and boards?
Yes, subject to the aircraft. Ski bags are long items and the hold shape matters more than its stated volume. Tell us the number of ski and board bags and we will confirm which categories work.
